Suti police station has successfully apprehended a youth identified as Arif Iqbal, a resident of Kaliachak in Malda district, for possession of an illegal firearm. He was arrested after being found in a suspicious condition in the area adjacent to Madhupur under Dhoti police station's jurisdiction. Upon questioning by the police, a gun and five rounds of live cartridges were recovered from him.
Initial investigations by the Suti police have reportedly shed light on the purpose for which Arif Iqbal had obtained this weapon and for whom it was intended. However, further details regarding these findings are yet to be officially disclosed as the police are conducting an in-depth investigation into the entire matter.
